Telrex's CallRex is the First VoIP Call Recording Solution Verified to Record Encrypted Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0 Calls

Kirkland, WA – September 25, 2006 –Telrex today announced that its CallRex™ version 3.1 is the first VoIP call recording product verified by an independent third party to support the recording of encrypted VoIP phone calls occurring in Cisco Unified CallManager, version 5.0. Additionally, CallRex version 3.1 has met the Cisco Technology Developer Program criteria for interoperability with the Cisco Unified CallManager, version 5.0.

Telrex joined the Cisco Technology Developer Program as a Partner participant. Through participation in the Cisco Technology Developer Program, Telrex's CallRex version 3.1 helps enable small- and medium-sized businesses to record VoIP calls for training purposes, dispute resolution or regulatory compliance.

The Cisco Technology Developer Program sets criteria for interoperability testing by independent third parties and helps enable leading product and services firms to deploy innovative business solutions. The program provides enterprise or service provider customers with information regarding Cisco Technology Developer Partner products and services that an independent testing facility has tested and found to interoperate with Cisco networking technology.

"CallRex's support for encryption enhances its value to Cisco Unified CallManager deployments," said Michael Gelinas, Senior Client Manager at Berbee Information Networks. "Call recording is a critical part of Cisco Unified CallManager deployments, and now customers can take advantage of Cisco Unified CallManager's powerful encryption and still remain compliant by recording their calls."

"Until now, Cisco Unified CallManager customers requiring call recording had to choose between call recording for regulatory compliance and the security provided by encrypting their phone calls -- they could not do both." says Robert Kapela, president of Telrex. "Given a choice, most customers chose call recording and compliance. Now they can have both, and enjoy the additional assurance that the solution has been verified."

"Cisco supports open standards-based architectures and shares a commitment to interoperable solutions with Telrex. Through this vision the Cisco Technology Developer Program delivers the power of choice to enterprises or service providers'the ability to extend the Cisco end-to-end architecture with our participants' solid products and technologies," said Rick Tywoniak, marketing manager, Cisco IP Communications Business Unit. "With Cisco Technology Developer Program member offerings such as Telrex's CallRex, customers can deploy a broad range of business solutions that foster innovation and drive rapid adoption of business-critical technologies."

CallRex records encrypted calls by capturing the encrypted voice packets as they pass through the network and decrypting them using encryption keys shared by Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0 on a per call basis.
